Pre-School Uniform
Steeple Aston Pre-School is very proud to have its own Pre-School Uniform and we like to encourage every child to wear the uniform whilst attending pre-school. The children love wearing the uniforms and feel part of the pre-school environment.
Our uniform consists of a navy blue polo-shirt, navy blue sweatshirt, navy blue fleece jacket; and a legionnaire's hat. All the items of clothing are embroidered with the Pre-School logo and can be purchased throughout the year at Pre-School. We also have second hand uniform available from time to time.
Whilst we do encourage all children to wear our Pre-School uniform, we understand that it is not always possible for them to wear it. In these cases and in order for the children to feel free to explore and experiment with all kinds of materials, including messy ones, it is best for them to wear clothes that are easily washable and not too new.
It is good for children to practice the skills which will make them independent. Simple clothing which they can handle themselves will enable them to go to the toilet when they want to and to put on and take off their outdoor clothes without being too dependent on other peoples help.
The children are given the opportunity for outside play as much as possible, we operate a free-flow system, to enable the children to choose whether they want to be indoors or outdoors, therefore warm coats and Wellington boots are essential during winter and cold months and sunhats during the summer. During outside play activities the children may sometimes play on bicycles, if you feel it is necessary for your child to wear a cycle helmet, please bring one in on the days your child attends. If your child is in the process of being potty trained, please can you provide several changes of clean clothing. The clothes can be kept in a small bag, with your child's name clearly marked on it, to hang on their coat peg. We do have a very small selection of clothing at Pre-School, but the children are always happier to wear their own clothes. We do have a nappy changing unit at Pre-School, but we do not provide nappies, wipes, nappy sacks etc. If your child will be wearing nappies at Pre-School, please make sure that you provide us with enough nappy changing items for your child. The items can be kept in a small bag, with your child's name clearly marked on it, and can be hung on your child's coat peg. Please only provide nappies and not 'pull ups'.
Please can you make sure that each and every item of clothing, footwear or bags of your child's is clearly marked with your child's name.
